How To Replace a Band Saw Tire? 1. Unplug the band saw, loosen the saw blade tension, and remove the blade. Then remove the band saw wheel. 2. Once removed, completely remove or cut the old tire and any residue left behind. 3. Slide part of the new tire onto the wheel rim, then insert a short rod or pipe between the tire and wheel. Roll the pipe around the rim to evenly stretch the tire. 4. Apply a small amount of adhesive to a brush and spread it on both the tire and wheel surface. Roll and repeat around the entire rim.
