Artfully designed howling wolf in the moon with a matching snake chain made of 925 Sterling silver. The elegant necklace is approx. 1 mm thick and subtly oxidized. We offer three different lengths: 45 cm, 55 cm, and 65 cm. The crescent moon is decorated with a filigree knot pattern. The chain pendant is partially blackened. Dimensions: approx. 26 mm high x approx. 24 mm wide Inner dimensions of the eyelet: approx. 7 mm high x approx. 4 mm wide Weight: approx. 6.5 g Background: According to Norse mythology, Odin owned two wolves: Geri and Freki (the greedy and the voracious). According to the Edda, Odin left all the food served to him in Valhalla to his wolves, as he himself drank only mead. But Odin's fate is also closely linked to another wolf: in the conflagration of Ragnarök, the father of the gods was devoured by Fenrir, the giant Fenris wolf.  Like ravens, wolves were also considered animals of the battlefield by the Vikings. Celtic knots have neither beginning nor end and therefore serve as a symbol of infinity or eternity.
